This is a contest entry for
Chibi Contest! (UPDATE: One Week Left!)Theme: Draw Adrian!
Hello my dear watchers! I'm back with my first contest! ^-^
You see, I recently created a new baby called Adrian to be the mascot for my page. He's my special boy and he's going to be drawn lots, and I really love him.
Here he is:
The only issue is, I'm having trouble coming up with a colour scheme for him that I like. His sketch is done, but when I tried colouring him it didn't really appeal to me.
That's where you guys come in! All you have to do is:
Do an artwork of a chibi Adrian (Can be 2d or 3d)
Colour him how you think he should be coloured
Post it to deviantart and send me the link in a note. Don't forget to include a link back to the contest in the deviation's description!
That's it! I will pick the colour scheme I like best and that will be Adrian's official colour scheme.
Here's a bit more about Adrian to give you some ideas:
He's a lamb boy
Oh my goodness I was so so sooo nervous of posting this up to DA finally, I did so many final touches,
I was actually complete with this on sunday, but decided to add more touches to it
This is also my FIRST TIME doing a chibi, so ehhehehe, Gomenasai *>////<
My first contest drawing entry I've ever done as well, hehe
Wind streaks to show how the scarf is drifting slightly from his body
Green lighting to the hills to indicate the height of them
More clouds to add a nice touch to the lamb theme, making sure to keep them patch like wool
Flowers were added to add to the gentle and soft scene, knowing he loves making friends with lambs, as well where I live flowers are always in little small patches.
The reason why I decided to do a pasture was because where I live lambs live in pastures, not in build up cities, they are
more free to roam where I live and I quite love that. It also allows me to add flowers, making a lush theme adds to this
gentle nature and it shows a more joyish touch to it, instead of making it dry and dead looking, that would had made the
scene less gentle and more rough. I made this theme during daytime, just to keep at least the sky simple, adding cotton
like themed clouds to add to the lamb theme as stated above in the final touches. The grass I actually zoomed in and made
as detailed as I could, I kept adding more and more grass to give it more a lushful feelings and I am quite content about
it. <*^_^>Note before you read color themes: I will give the color pallet to the owner of him if she chooses this color scheme.
COLOR THEMES AND DESIGN ON BODY:
Hair- When I first saw in the description that he is a lamb boy, my first thoughts were 'I think a type of cream or blonde
would better match him, seeing as lambs are white, some cream, black, and sometimes a blondish color. I went with the creamy-
blonde because It reminds me of a gentle yet soft nature, while Black would be in my mind a bit more silent and kept to self look,
while I thought if White would be a little tooo much, it wouldn't really fit for me in my mind DX.I made the clip a light brown, thought
that would be nice. :3
Ears - Yes, I did wool around the rims of the ears and wool inside, because that was how I saw it on the reference sheet, as stated
she said this in her rules; "I know some parts of Adrian's design isn't clear, so you are allowed to improvise a bit and change small parts of his design."
The wool on the rim of his ears is white, while the cotton inside is a light cream, it is just shaded to where it looks a bit brown.
Eyes- I had decided to make the eyes blue to give a shy touch, I think blue as calm and a shy touch to it. I simply love love LOVE Doing eyes, and now I am enjoying doing hair, seeing as It has gotten more fun to do <3, Any whom, I had fun doing the eyes and made the side of the Iris darker, seeing as in the reference it has a darker shading on the sides rather then all around.
Tail: I was not sure what the little fluffy thing was behind him was, so I took it as to being a tail, deciding to make the tail like a lambs,
I made sure to look up what a lambs tail like and they are like a long wool hanging from them. :3
Skin- I decided to go with a skin tone that would somewhat match that of a lamb's face, making it not to light and not to dark. The markings on the face I had a hard time coming up with, but I finally came up with a color and decided on a color in between purple and blue.
Scarf and waist wrapping - I decided to make the scarf and waist wrapping wool made, adding the puffy like sections into it to give the wool feeling and look to it. They are a grey blue color, showing shyness as the theme there.
Shirt & Jacket - First I'll start with the shirt selection. I decided to make the shirt a tanish to give it a sheepish theme. The jacket I decided to go with a seafoam green and for the patches on some parts(How I see it is from the reference) darker green, since hes a guy I wanted to give him a little bit of darker colors so I put the darker colors on the patches. Green for me I always see wisdom and gentle touch.
Pants - I kept debating with myself on this one, I had a very very hard time deciding up a color and went with a grayish-white theme, as to match with the scarf. This is where I wanted to add the brightness color at, so that there was a balance.
Legs/leg wrappings- I am very much not sure on what he is wearing on his legs and feet, not sure exactly what it is, so I just call it leg wrappings. Any whom! I gave it a cream and black coloring, wanting to give it the black sheep look in him, so black wool made leggings.
I do not know if I am missing out on anything, I'm drained from doing sooo much specific points DX
